May’s Questions For You To Ponder

Well it’s that time of the month again to pose my monthly spiritual questions for everyone to ponder. I hope each of you will take the time to mull them over and maybe even share a few of your responses after you have. And as always, my own answers are listed below as well.

  1. What kind of spiritual retreats have you ever done?
  2. What is your biggest fear?
  3. What do you feel is your best trait?
  4. What do you feel is your worst trait?
  5. What do you feel is your strangest trait?
  6. What would the title of your book be if you wrote one about your life?
  7. If you were to start a new hobby, what would it be?
  8. Name one thing that has brought you great inspiration in life?
  9. What was the biggest risk you’ve ever taken?
  10. If you could transform into an animal whenever you wanted, which one would it be?

  1. Who do you miss the most right now, alive or dead?

My Answers:

  1. New Warrior Training (ManKind Project), Vipassana (10-day meditation retreat), Matt Talbot (AA Retreat), Cursillo (Christian Retreat).
  2. Not being able to live life fully due to chronic pain.
  3. My love and compassion for everyone and everything.
  4. My obsessions around my health.
  5. Habitually using a shop vacuum to clean my lawn of any debris.
  6. I Am Kicking Hard Enough!
  7. I’d learn how to make stone, crystal, or beaded necklaces for myself.
  8. Writing For My Blog.
  9. Doing an accelerated free fall skydive solo.
  10. A Rüppell’s vulture (Solely because it can fly up to 37,000 feet above the earth).

April’s Questions For You To Ponder

I wanted to make sure I didn’t wait until the final day of April to post my monthly spiritual questions for everyone to ponder. So here they are and it’s my ongoing hope you will take the time to mull them over and maybe even share a few of your responses when you’re done. And as always, my own answers are listed below as well.

  1. What was the hardest lesson you’ve learned in life so far?
  2. What hobby brings you great joy and do you still make time for it nowadays?
  3. What is challenging you most in life right now and causing you the greatest stress?
  4. What is the first thing you turn to when you’re having a really difficult day?
  5. Of everyone currently a part of your life, whom do you relate to the most?
  6. What is the number one thing you want to do (or see) before you die?
  7. What was your most favorite childhood activity?
  8. What was your favorite thing to do with your father growing up?
  9. What was your favorite thing to do with your mother growing up?
  10. What is your dream job?

And one more for good measure:

  1. If you could invent one thing by just thinking it right now, what would it be and why?

My answers:

  1. Pursuing someone else’s dream that wasn’t part of my own. (Losing $650,000 of cash investments to a Bed & Breakfast I bought for an ex-partner)
  2. Writing or doing jigsaw puzzles and yes to both.
  3. My health issues.
  4. When I’m in good headspace – Prayer, meditation, and my hobbies. But when I’m in bad headspace – dark chocolate (lots of it).
  5. My spiritual teacher – Manin.
  6. Visit Bodhgaya in India, the place where the original Buddha became enlightened under the Bodhi tree after intense meditation.
  7. Playing on those metal merry-go-rounds at the playground where people pushed each other on it super fast.
  8. Go hiking up a mountain, having lunch at the top, and then getting a dessert treat after coming down.
  9. Playing card games like Gin Rummy, Crazy 8’s, and Kings In the Corner.
  10. Becoming both a paid motivational speaker and professional writer.
  11. A teleportation device so that I could travel anywhere in the world whenever I wanted.

March’s Questions For You To Ponder

As I sat here this morning and attempted to think of a topic to write on for the final day of March, I realized I hadn’t done a posting yet of my spiritual questions for you to ponder this month. So here goes nothing and better late than never I say. And hopefully each of you will take the time to answer them just like I did at the bottom of today’s entry.

  1. What has been your greatest test of patience in life so far?
  2. Where do you hope your life is five years from now?
  3. If you could teleport to just one place whenever you wanted, where would it be to?
  4. What is the strangest spiritual experience you’ve ever had so far in life?
  5. What do you usually do to comfort yourself when you’re hurting really bad inside?
  6. Name one form of holistic healing you’ve tried in life that worked great for you?
  7. If you were to write a story about your life, what would be its title and theme?
  8. Name one unhealthy habit you’d most like to change about yourself right now?
  9. Describe yourself in just three words?
  10. What memory in life brings you the most joy anytime you think about it?

Here are my answers:

  1. Going through the healing process I’ve been going through the past five years.
  2. Feeling truly happy from within on a regular basis no matter what I’m doing.
  3. A secluded beach in the Caribbean with fine white sand, crystal-clear water and a coral reef nearby to snorkel in.
  4. When meditating once long ago, I somehow left my body and was staring down at myself from the ceiling.
  5. Talk to my Higher Power.
  6. EFT Tapping Therapy.
  7. “I Am Kicking Hard Enough Mom!” – A story about how I learned to love myself unconditionally.
  8. Beating myself up when I think I’m not living up to my spiritual potential.
  9. Introspective, Compassionate, Motivational.
  10. Thoughts of my annual family vacation to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina when I was a kid.
  11. Dining out with someone close to my heart and finishing it with a piece of flourless chocolate cake.
