Thought For The Day

With the recent life change that my partner Chris and I almost had in a potential move to Tampa, Florida for a new position for Chris that ended up not happening in the end, I wanted to look for some inspirational quotes that came out of the frustration from it all…

“Things didn’t work out because, well, greater things were in the works. It’s so difficult while we’re blind and hurting and don’t know which way is up. But, if you have faith in anything, have faith in the fact that God has a beautiful way of straightening things out far better than we ever could. You may not see it today or tomorrow, but you will look back in a few years and be absolutely perplexed and awed by how every little thing added up and brought you somewhere wonderful – or where you always wanted to be. You will be grateful that things didn’t work out the way you once wanted them to.” (Brianna Weist)

“When things don’t work out the way you planned, maybe life has bigger things planned for you. You just don’t know them yet.” (David Cuschieri)

“Be grateful that certain things didn’t work out. Sometimes you don’t even know what you’re being protected from or where you’re being guided to when you’re in the midst of chaos. That’s why you just have to trust that greater things are aligning for you. Let go gracefully.” (Idil Ahmed)

“A secret to happiness is letting every situation be what it is, instead of what you think it should be.” (Unknown)

Thought For The Day

Today’s quotes follow in line for the ongoing realizations I continue to make in my 12 Step recovery from my former life of toxic addictions…

When you become a slave to someone or something and are unable to stop without help, when that someone or something takes the brain hostage and the addict has lost the power of choice, it has become a disease.” (Unknown)

“Knowing what I lost and knowing where it led me gives me strength from addiction. Knowing what I have today…my thoughts of getting high vanish. (Tangie B.)

“The opposite of addiction is not sobriety, but human connection.” (Johann Hari)

“Life always gives us exactly the teacher we need at every moment. This includes every mosquito, every misfortune, every red light, every traffic jam, every loss, every moment of joy or depression, every addiction, every piece of garbage, every breath. Every moment is the guru.” (Joko Beck)

Thought For The Day

Today’s quotes are ones I found to help with processing the loss of a close friendship recently…

“You have to accept that some chapters in our lives have to close without closure. There’s no point in losing yourself by trying to fix what’s meant to stay broken.” (Unknown)

“You have to let people go. Everyone who’s in your life are meant to be in your journey, but not all of them are meant to stay til the end.” (Unknown)

“Some people are going to leave, but that’s not the end of your story. That’s the end of their part in your story.” (Unknown)

“When someone walks out of your life, let them. There’s no use in wasting your time on people that leave you. What you make of yourself and your future is no longer tied to them. Yes, you may miss them. But remember that you weren’t the one that gave up.” (Unknown)
