Yesterday marked four entire calendar years since I began this blog and as of my last count, I’ve actually written approximately 1100 original entries in here, which has truly been no small feat in itself. I honestly never thought I’d make it this far, or find enough things to write about for that matter, given that this was originally intended to be a simple homework assignment to journal about my life.
But somewhere along the way, I began to believe that something much greater than myself was sustaining me in this daily task. Because every time I thought I’d run out of ideas to blog about, a new topic or even a different angle from a previously discussed topic would suddenly surface within my spirit.
And even through the many ups and downs I’ve experienced along the way on the spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical levels these past four years, I’ve somehow managed to keep this blog going. More importantly though, I realize I’m not a quitter anymore like I once use to be with most things, especially when life wasn’t going my way. And although things haven’t necessarily gone the way I’ve wanted over the past four years, my desire to keep The Twelfth Step blog up and running has never once fully gone away.
While much of that I believe is due to all of you who continue to follow along and thank me for many of the articles I’ve written, I do feel there is a much greater Source at work here, a Power well beyond my understanding.
Whether this Power will ever use my writing for greater purposes than simply chronicling my life’s experiences I don’t know. Honestly I don’t think it really matters because it’s apparent that this Power continues to provide me enough life force each day to keep this going for over four year now.
So, as I continue into the 5th year of maintaining this spiritual blog, I offer my thanks to each of you for your ongoing love and support with it. And of course, I also must thank this Power, whom I believe is God. For I know without His support I would have given up long ago with my writing and for that I’m truly grateful…
Peace, love, light, and joy,
Andrew Arthur Dawson
