September’s Questions For You To Ponder

Hello everyone! I decided it was time to do the monthly questions for everyone to ponder. I know it’s a little sooner than I usually do each month, but it always seems like I wait until the last few days or so before posting them. So I guess I’m being somewhat proactive in doing it now. 🙂 Anyway, I hope each of you will continue to take some time to mull them over, and as always, my own answers are listed below.

  1. If you became the next President of the United States, what would be your number one priority to helping our country?
  2. What do you struggle letting go of the most in your life?
  3. If Jesus actually returned to earth in your lifetime and you were given a small amount of time alone with him, how would you use it?
  4. What one thing can’t you live without?
  5. If you were reincarnated after this life, name three traits/circumstances you would want to experience within it?
  6. If you could tame any animal and have it as a pet, what would it be?
  7. How do you regularly spend the last hour each day before going to bed?
  8. Name one TV show that truly affected your thinking about life?
  9. If you had to live in the shoes of any one person in this world for just one day, who would it be?
  10. If you could remove one trait in the world in entirety forever, what would it be?

And one more for good measure as always:

  1. If you could have one superpower/ability, what would it be?

My answers:

  1. Finding ways to create more peace and unity.
  2. What other people think and say about me.
  3. I’d ask if I was living the life God wanted me to live and then I’d ask for healing.
  4. The happiness and joy that only comes from feeling my Higher Power’s presence within me.
  5. An unconditionally loving and spiritual family, a life free of addictive tendencies, and be Asian, Indian, or Native American.
  6. Some kind of tiger.
  7. Working on a puzzle, writing in my blog, watching one of my sci-fi/fantasy shows, doing my grateful journal, and praying.
  8. Senese8.
  9. My partner.
  10. Violence and bloodshed.
  11. The ability to speak and write and understand any language.

Daily Reflection

“A significant milestone in life is achieved when you learn to be your own best friend.” (Jeffrey Benjamin)

I used to have every minute of the day planned. In fact, I kept myself so busy that I rarely left any free time to spend with myself. But that was precisely why I did that, because I never really liked hanging out much with myself, especially in silence. Unfortunately, not only did that prevent me from becoming my own best friend, it also prevented me from growing closer to my Higher Power. Thankfully I’ve spent plenty of time in recent years in solitude because in doing so, I’ve actually learned to like being alone a lot more than having to always be around others. But even better, I’ve developed a much stronger relationship with my Higher Power as well. I’m extremely grateful for this because it seems as if there’s been a serious lack of close friends in my life these days. Yet, I find myself being ok with it because I truly am enjoying hanging out with myself alone these days, as it’s in each of those moments when I have where I continue to learn to love myself and my Higher Power even greater.

The two best friends I can ever have in life are my Higher Power and myself. I pray I will always take some time out of each of my remaining days to spend alone with both, as I know how crucial that is to never forgetting this.

Peace, love, light, and joy,

A Prayer For Dealing With Pain And Drudgery

I’ve received a bunch of reminders lately from those very close to me that I might be spending too much time dwelling on the pain I’ve been enduring for what seems like an eternity now. The fact is, what they’re telling me is absolutely true. I’ve found myself quite a bit in recent weeks talking, writing, and musing on my pain and health issues, and in all honesty, it hasn’t helped me to deal with it much. So when I spoke to my sister the other day about this very issue, she read me a daily reflection from one of her own spiritual books that I felt really helped, especially the prayer at the end of it. Because of this, I’ve decided to include an excerpt of it for today’s entry, as I know it has a positive spiritual message for me on what I’m currently going through in life…

“…Maybe God wrote our pain so His glory could be displayed in our lives today. Allow God to shift your focus from pain to His glory. He promises to show up and arrange circumstances – so He is your hero. Pain may lead to a cascade of spiritual blessing. Drudgery may be the backdrop for extravagant compassion. The God who writes the pain is with us. He writes with purpose and love – and with our supreme benefit in mind.”

“Dear God, Author of life and each day, help me trust You with my pain. I beg You to take it away – but if my pain brings You glory, I ask You to take my focus off myself and help me turn my thoughts to You.”

Peace, love, light, and joy,
